Underwater Naturalist Specialty

Are you fascinated with aquatic life? Always wondering what aquatic animals are doing and why? This course teaches you about the different major aquatic life groupings and how they interact. On completion of this course you will see the aquatic world differently; you won’t just see “fish,” but individual species with distinct strategies for surviving in a complex, interactive ecosystem.

Course Topics Include:

• Overview of aquatic life groupings and interrelations
• The role of aquatic plants, food chains and predator prey relationships
• Responsible interactions with aquatic life
• Observing and identifying aquatic interactions

General Course information:

• Number of Dives: Two
• Duration: 1 day
• Includes Underwater Naturalist manual
• Miniumum qualification: Must be a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
• Minimum age: 10
• Certification counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.
